父の親友キャロル・ヒースの長男が、先月、京都の学会に出席。後半は家族も同行、帰り一泊は私達に会う為に東京に泊まり、今日ブランチを共にしました。30年程前にメイン州の自宅に訪れた頃の写真も持参して、昔話にも花が咲きました。長男ガービンの母親キャロルは、私にとってはアメリカのお母さんのような存在でした。弱気になった時などはいつも「ビッグスマイル！！」と言われ、「笑う門には福来たる」を実践している憧れの女性。あのスマイルは息子にも受け継がれていました。キャピタル東急ホテル内和食『水簾』の皆様、子供用お弁当などご用意して下さり、お世話になり有り難うございました。
These are Garvin Heath Family from Boulder, Colorado. His mother, Carole Heath is my father's good friend. When we were living in NY, we used to visit their house in Maine. Their wooden handmade house was surrounded by full of nature. I really miss those days...
Garvin Heath is now a scientist, and also a member of the Technology Systems and Sustainability Analysis Groups in the Strategic Energy Analysis Center.
His wife, Tania Barham is an assistant professor of University of Colorado at Boulder.
Their son, Aden, and their daughter, Sila were adorable. Safe trip, back to Colorado!
